About FD Studios

FD Studios is a Central Coast–based design and manufacturing studio specializing in 3D scanning, CAD design, rapid prototyping, and reverse engineering. We help homeowners, makers, tradespeople, and businesses recreate broken, worn, or discontinued parts—and turn rough ideas into precise, production-ready designs.

What we do

When a part no longer exists, was never documented, or needs to be improved, we bridge the gap between the physical object and a manufacturable file. Using high-resolution 3D scanning, professional CAD software, and a fleet of FDM 3D printers, we deliver either a ready-to-manufacture digital file or a finished, printed part.

Our story

FD Studios grew out of a lifelong passion for vehicles and better design. Our founder grew up on California's Central Coast and has spent over 20 years working on cars, alongside 8 years of professional CAD design experience. Along the way he's lived and traveled far beyond the Central Coast—from Tennessee to Italy—gathering perspective and inspiration at every stop. That background drives the mission behind FD Studios: to create parts and designs that are better than what's currently available, and to help customers bring their own ideas to life.
